The Commission will investigate all Companies and Individuals that have applied and/or have been granted licences in order to protect the Betting and Gaming consumers from fraudulent operators and persons.
Application for Licence to operate Gaming Machine(s) on Precribed Premises Gaming Machine Operators must apply to the Commission for licences to operate any such machines using the Application Forms provided by the Commission. Completed Applications Forms must be submitted to the Commission along with receipts evidencing payments of the Annual Levy required by the Act. . An Annual Levy in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) per machine is due and payable by each operator to the Collector of Taxes on the 1st day of April each year. . Additionally, the payment of the following fees by the licencees must be made to the Commission: -

Every Gaming Machine Licence granted by the Commission shall be valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of issue and may be renewed not less than twenty-one (21) days before expiration. Owners or Operators of premises on which gaming machines are operated without licence, in default of the provisions of the Act will be liable to punishment by fine and/or imprisonment upon conviction
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the Betting Gaming and Lotteries (Amendment) Act, 2000 which came into effect 19th July, 2000, the Betting, Gaming & Lotteries Commission (the Commission) is the only Authority empowered to grant licences for and to regulate the operations of gaming machines in any prescribed premises in Jamaica.
Requirements for Conducting Prize Competitions All applications should be submitted to the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission at least twenty-one (21) days prior to any advertisement of the competition. Applicants must submit details of each competition including at lease the following :-

Promoters who are granted approval will be required to include the following statement in at least one medium that is used to advertise the promotion:- "Authorized by Order under the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Act"
